With our multidisciplinary team comprised of four physicians, our knowledgeable team ensures that patients will receive comprehensive, targeted care from specialists who are familiar with the individual’s unique needs. Our physicians are board certified in neurosurgery and neurology. We also have physician assistants working with our specialists, along with a committed support staff. Throughout its history, Bakersfield Neuroscience and Spine Institute's physicians have continued to evolve to meet Kern Countys changing health care needs.
DR. Majid Rahimifar MSc, FRCSC, FACS
Dr. Majid Rahimifar is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon specializing in conditions and treatment of the brain, spine, and nerves. He has served the Bakersfield Community for over 20 years. His expertise in neurosurgery has allowed him to help many patients in the local and outlying areas of Kern County. Dr. Rahimifar specializes in spinal surgeries, which include the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He also performs Brain surgeries for conditions related to hydrocephalus, brain tumors, brain aneurysms, and pituitary tumors.
DR. Olusegun Leramo* FRCSC, FACS, FICS
Dr. Olusegun Leramo is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon. He was trained at the University of Toronto, and did his Neurosurgery fellowship at Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield, California. He is skilled in using techniques that allow him to operate more precisely and less invasively. Dr. Leramo specializes in anterior cervical diskectomy's, lumbar laminectomies and microdiscectomies. He also performs brain surgeries including craniotomys, cranioplasty, and shunting.
DR. Kaveh Saremi*
Dr. Kaveh Saremi received his medical degree in 1997. He is a double board certified Neurologist. His board certification includes: Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. He completed his residency in Neurology and fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology at University of California, Irvine (UCI). He then accomplished his second fellowship in Movement Disorders at UCLA under the guidance of Dr. Jeff Bronstein. His clinical interests include the management of Parkinson’s disease (PD), surgical treatment of PD, Botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of Movement Disorders, epilepsy, and the diagnosis and treatment of various neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Saremi offers multi-disciplinary treatment approaches for patients who have neurologic impairments, functional disabilities, and handicaps caused by conditions such as stroke, brain trauma, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases of the nerves or muscle.
Weiss Moshref P.A.*
Weiss Moshref is a Physicians Assistant working in the OR assisting in a variety of Spine, Brain and neurosurgical subspecialty cases. Weiss Moshref provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under supervision of a physician. He also provides counseling and education to patients and their family and caregivers concerning preventive health, and treatment options.
