Communication is key here at Bakersfield Neuroscience.  You're problems, questions, and concerns is our number one priority. If you want to contact a physician from our practice after office hours, call the practice's main phone number, (661)872-9999 and leave a message with the answering service.  The answering service will contact the physician who is on call and relay your message.  If you require immediate medical attention, call 911 or proceed to an emergency room at your local hospital.  If you are an established patient with us, the emergency room staff will contact our physician on call.

Appointments

To schedule appointments, please call our office during business hours.  We realize that your time is important to you as we attempt to stay on schedule with your appointment.  Occasionally, however, unavoidable delays occur.  Your provider may be in surgery, or perhaps called to an emergency.  We will keep you informed if a delay arises.  If you cannot keep your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible--preferably 24 hours in advance.  Our office will charge a $35.00 fee for missed appointments which your insurance will not cover.  We appreciate your cooperation.

Refilling Prescriptions

All prescription refills should be requested by calling your pharmacy.  The pharmacy will then contact our office.  Do not call our office before calling the pharmacy.  Please allow approximately three (3) days for processing.


X-Rays & MRI

Patients are repsonsible to hand-carry all relevant radiological studies personally.  These studies or films must be picked up from the facility at which they were conducted.  Please make arangements well in advance of your scheduling appointment.


Scheduling Tests & Procedures

To have tests and/or procedures ordered through our office scheduled, please  call our office duringbusiness hours.  Your  provider's Medical Assistant (MA) will schedule your test/procedure for you.

Many tests and surgeries that your provider may order require insurance pre-authorization. Some insurance carriers also require a second surgical opinion.  Before the scheduled date arrives, you will need to contact your insurance carrier to confirm that authorization has been made.  Also, please confirm your appointment with the testing facility.

It is your responsibility to be aware of and to follow the guidelines established by your insurance carrier.  We are not responsible for non-payment by your insurance carrier.


Please call your provider's MA if you need to find out of we have received your test results.  We will usually not be able to discuss the results, but will tell you if the results have been received.  Typically, your provider will review the test results with you.
